A CHILD’S DILEMMA; MOTHERS TO BE BLAMED.

Children are wonderful gift from God. If you have them, praise be to God Almighty but if you don’t, do not despair because your set time will soon come.

Do you know that most mothers are so careless with matters concerning their children? You don’t believe me? Ok let me tell you a story that happened right before my very one eyes.

Some months back when I was coming back from my early morning jugging. There was this woman who was taking her child to school, her phone rang she picked the call and started charting with the person at the other end, forgetting she had her child with her. The small girl of about 4years who had wriggled out her hand from her absent minded mother’s grip, vied into the road in pursuit of what I latter discovered to be a bundle of rubber binds tied together to form a long rope. A car was coming ahead and the driver jammed hard on his break quickly enough to avoid colliding into the girl who ran front and back in fright and confusion. All that I can her the woman say repeatedly is, Jesus!  Jesus! Jesus! She Ran to her daughter, grabbed and, dragged her out of the road. You won’t believe what this woman did. To my chagrin, she started beating up the poor little girl who is still gasping for breath for escaping a near death experience. I was so shocked and annoyed with this woman’s reaction that I decided to voice out my mind on her negligence. This is definitely child abuse n  doubt about it. i told her this pump and plain. no two ways about this.

‘Omor!’ you need to see what came out from the woman’s mouth in the name of abuse.

‘Some women get bad mouth ooo’.

She cursed my father, my mother, my husband, even my children join. And told me to mind my business. ‘

Na waa ooo’.

What can you say about this kind of woman. You don’t need a prophet to tell you the kind of home training this woman’s children will receive. ‘Garbage in garbage out’. Oh! what a pity!

I guess some women are not fit to be mothers. With all due respect to all women. I am of the opinion that a kind of training be organized for women to prepare them for the arduous but responsive task ahead of them. The church, the community, women’s group and NGOS could take this up, I in my on little way is set to do my bit through this platform. In so doing we will be able to have respectable and well behaved children and our homes in particular and the society at large will be the better for it.

You can prove me wrong if you say NAH!!  Am waitinggggg!
